Silver Sussex hens are beautiful looking black birds with stunning silver lacing around necks. Good egg layers. Roosters look magnificent with charcoal body and silver highlights around their neck, wings, tail and back.
Speckled Sussex have mainly a rich dark mahogany body with feathers tipped in white. Black specks can also be seen in the feathers. The hens are good layers.
Both these breeds are good ‘all-rounders’ being well suited to the backyard, farms or for showing.

Our meat birds are well cared for, and given a high quality of life. From 4 weeks of age, they are let out to roam on the gree grass, and then locked up in a clean shed overnight.
We feed them a carefully formualted diet made here on the farm, ensuring the correct meat to fat ratio.
Depending on the size of dressed bird you like, they are ready now, or left for another week of two, you could end up with 3kg (dressed weight) birds.
Nothing compares to a country rasied meat bird. The taste is totally different to those purchased from the supermarket.
We will be delivering layers and feed to Kensington Gardens this Saturday (14th August), so pick up can be arranged from here. Other wise you are more than welcome to purchase them from our farm at Eudunda.

They are currently 7 weeks old, and have been rared here on our property. We are very perticular on their diet, which is why we feed them with our own mix. It is made here on our farm with our own grains. We also have it tested to ensure that thay will put on the correct fat / meat ratio.
This has given us fantastic results with our birds, and since we have been doing this, we do not end up with any birds with splayed legs etc.
From 4 weeks of age, they are let out during the day so they can roam and eat grass.
Depending on the size you like your birds, they will be ready for dressing in about 4 weeks ( This should give you a birds around 2.5kg).
All birds are priced at $10.00each.
We are situated at Eudunda, which is only a short drive from the Barossa and Gawler. We are also around the farm most days and times, for pickup

Fertile eggs for sale
$60 dozen (includes postage)

Silver Sussex hens are beautiful looking black birds with stunning silver lacing around necks. Good egg layers. Roosters look magnificent with charcoal body and silver highlights around their neck, wings, tail and back.
Speckled Sussex have mainly a rich dark mahogany body with feathers tipped in white. Black specks can also be seen in the feathers. The hens are good layers.
Both these breeds are good ‘all-rounders’ being well suited to the backyard, farms or for showing.
Orders for the silvers will be available in coming weeks and for the speckleds it will be a bit longer.
